A sound…

Shofar

1 Corinthians 14:7 – 8

7 Even musical instruments like the flute or the harp, though they are lifeless, are examples of the need for speaking in plain language. For no one will recognize the melody unless the notes are played clearly. 8 And if the bugler doesn’t sound a clear call, how will the soldiers know they are being called to battle?

Do you believe that every sound carries a message? For instance, if you were told to go to your room by your parents and you stormed away and slammed the door, is there a message being sent through that sound?  If you were at home alone and a window broke, is there a message being sent to you through that sound? Through these couple of examples, I am sure as you read them you had a message that you came up with through the sound as it was described.

But there are also times that we can hear a sound and not be sure what or where the sound is coming from. You hear this loud bang and you may think was that a gunshot? Was that a car backfiring? Was that an explosion?…what was that sound?

I believe that there is a sound that needs to be produced again in the Body of Christ. I believe the world is longing for a sound!

In the scripture above we see that there is a need for clear notes to be played for an attractive melody to be understood. People don’t listen to music that doesn’t sound good.

There is a need for clear sound if we are going to be prepared for the approach of the enemy.

The ability to produce a God sound will attract the lost! Not our programs. Our ability to produce a sound will get people to recognize the coming attack of the enemy. We have to produce the God sound.

Now don’t get me wrong the Body of Christ is producing a sound… the problem is it sounds exactly like the sound the world is producing. The same sound of corruption, the same sound of gossip, the same sound of backstabbing, the same sound of abuse, the same sound of sexual immorality, the same sound of greed.

There is no distinction in the sound!

Is there a need to wonder why the world doesn’t want to be a part of the Body of Christ?

Just in case you don’t know the answer……WE SOUND THE SAME!

I look forward to your comments..Part II will be “What sound do we need to hear”

Welcome to the “blog” world, I look forward to your post… The one thing that I want to throw out here for my conversation is the fact that the sound made by the trumpet was made by people who were trained and consecrated to make that sound. It seems as if we have people trying to make a sound that are only trained in the ways of the world… This point back to leadership as a key issue. We (leaders), are great at pointing at the reality that the people do not get it, but I think we need to begin to ask ourselves the question, “do we get it”?

WHAT IS THE SOUND? HOW IS THE SOUND BUILT? IS IT BUILT INDIVIDUALLY, UNIFIED, OR BOTH. ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS WITH ALONE TIME WITH GOD, AND AS WE COME TOGETHER?
